On March 5, 2009, Magna Entertainment Corp. and its affiliated debtors (collectively the “Debtors”) filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (the “Court”). The Court ordered the Debtors’ cases to be jointly administered under case number 09-10720.
On March 18, 2009, the Office of the United States Trustee for the District of Delaware appointed a committee of unsecured creditors (the “Creditors’ Committee”) in the Debtors’ cases. The Court entered an order, dated June 9, 2009, appointing The Garden City Group, Inc. as the Creditors’ Committee’s Website Administrative Agent.
On April 29, 2010, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware entered its Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law and Order Confirming Second Modified Third Amended Joint Plan of Affiliated Debtors, The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors, MI Developments Inc., and MI Developments US Financing Inc. (the "Plan"), and on April 30, 2010, the Effective Date (as defined in the Plan) occurred and the Plan was substantially consummated.
